Anarchisms

“The characteristic function of anarchism is to encourage
the blossoming of different types of anarchists, of diverse
anarchist milieus, dissimilar in operation, di  ering over the
ways to best use life.”

– Emile Armand

This collection of essays aims to increase awareness of – and
encourage involvement in – anarchist forms of organisation.
Capitalism is riddled with paradoxes; perhaps Anarchism has
just one: it’s the ideology against ideologies. It seeks not so
much to tell people what to think as to show them where to
look – to encourage them to think for themselves, to be their
own authority.

This is part of the reason that anarchism is necessarily pluralistic
– why we think anarchisms is a better descriptor for this antidoctrinaire
doctrine.

Each piece is beautifully illustrated by Cat Sims

Praise for Anarchisms :

“These short and accessible essays are each a joyful provocation. Each chapter is a tender reminder that anarchism’s diversity is not a list of theories but is made by many ways of living and acting together. Anarchisms is a collection of personal invitations to embrace possibility.”

Gavin Grindon (Curator and Art Historian)
